We believe folk art and folk life are key elements of  sustaining our values, traditions and communities

I have been blessed in my life to serve our community through many avenues.   One of my deepest lessons is coming to know the importance of our stories and traditions in maintaining our humanity and connectedness. When we tell our stories and share our cultural folkways, we render knowledge that uplifts and truths that heal.  We build bridges across generations, gender and time.

By increasing awareness of and embracing our community assets, we are able to utilize the positive to make change and transformation.   In FACT,  is passionate about strengthening families and empowering communities through folk arts programming and civic engagement.  We're looking to make a difference in our world and I believe that by focusing on communities, we’re going to make the most substantial impact. The world is made up of these important social connections and if you foster them positively, they’ll pay huge dividends - in love, care, and a better world.
